Our Story

The original Made In Detroit t-shirt. EST. 1991
Celebrating 35 years....
It all started in 1991, as a spark for a city long left for dead. Built with a forearm, a hammer, and a shop hat on a silhouette ready to strike, it wasn’t just a logo — it was a tribute to the industries that made America great and a direct link to the city that fueled them.
Made In Detroit has been the singular symbol of grit and resilience for 35 years. But in 2005, the brand faced tough times of its own. Bought out of bankruptcy before another piece of Detroit history was lost, Made In Detroit was refueled by Kid Rock and his childhood friend.
To this day, Kid Rock has never taken a penny from the business.
The goal for this brand has always been: reinstall pride in Detroit, create jobs in our home state, and donate a portion of our profits to local charities whenever possible.
Born to represent. This is MADE IN DETROIT.
